Another display of essential skills was shown as Money and Mr. Rogers slugged it out. Money with his smirky laid back style gave the fans (especially dude in the orange shirt) what they were looking for as he poured out line after line of legato freestyle. Rogers on the other hand punched with delivery of Muhammad Ali and played no rope-a-dope. Truly a kill or be killed round. Next time look for the Producer Battle to be included.

No Guts No Glory February, 2009

Last Thursday !YT! went to the second No Guts No Glory competiton and was in for a surprise. Hosted at 5 Seasons, a mecca for Baltimore HipHop events, we arrived to find the same comfortable and laid back vibe since our last visit. Moderate sized crowd, hungry MC's and Producers, plus, that dude Pitts facilitatin'.

The biggest surprise though were the last two cats who went at it in the best of three rounds. Godflow who won the first two of those three decided for the love of HipHop to go a third round putting up the $500 he had already won... and won again. Ms. Tris Beats provided the bangin beats for the finalists to spit over. Truly nice battle. Check the footage to the right of the screen or just go to youtube.com/ytstudio.

Other attractions from the night included Greenspan and A.C.E.'s Dreko. Not particularly being a Greenspan fan I think you should also check the Dreko footage from our youtube.

Mobin at Deep Flow Studios

Weather was perfect, temperature was just right, good turn-out with Emcees. Pitts, Amotion, Hot, and about fifteen other people stood around waiting as the equipment was set-up for what was expected to be a hot Mobe. But after I got everything laced up two problems shut things down. That morning I had been running a printer and burning DVD's and CD's using two laptops all from my Jeep's accessory power output ( I have an Optima battery) in preparation for the Session. I must have blown a fuse cause there was no power from the output. After that was fixed, I tried sending the audio from the mic pre-amp out put through my Jeep's head unit like I always do... but that was a no go. So we ended up freesylin' acapella, exchanged cards, CD's and daps and then rolled out.

Big ups to Amotion though for hosting the joint AND sticking around wayyyyyyy past her time for her next video shoot just to see me fuck-up. I loved it though... not inconveniencing her (big apology A!), the slip-up just helped me understand some things I'd been sayin to myself all that day. Problems have been solved and the next Session is sure to be a banger. Stay peepin!

So, we expect to continue showin love to South B'mo and will be Mobin soon hopefully before the weather goes zero.

So the day has finally arrived. The release of our second project CD to take HipHop back to the streets AND
bring it to the ears of those looking for something fresh and innovative. As usual we pumped the beats thru the Jeep and set the mic up for all Emcees with "cajones".... but it was a lil' different this time. Click, listen and see if you hear what I mean. SpeakerBoxin' 2008

Last month at the Sonar, Brake Fast Records and a host of other supporters put on a real nice event that drew people as far from VA and Germantown called SpeakerBoxin'.
Emcee'd by Shaka Pitts and A-Class, the event gave $200 to winners competing in either Freestyle, B-Boy, Producer or Dj. While the Emcees worked hard to keep the crowd live, the competitors worked even harder for their prize money. Check out the footge below to see who won two of the four categories and then bookmark this page while keeping your browser up to find out when the next Speakerboxin event will be hosted. I'm told it will be sometime in the Spring.
